My husband and I have been married for just over a year, so we’re still newlyweds. My husband was a year behind me in the same department at college. He was my closest friend for nine years, and we spent a lot of time together.
Then, when I turned 30, he proposed to me. His sudden proposal left me deep in thought for a month. Trusting his hardworking and kind nature that I had known for so long. I decided to start going out with him. After dating for 2 years and 8 months, we finally tied the knot.
But the process wasn’t easy. My husband was in Bucheon, and I was in Jeonju, so we had a long-distance relationship. Despite the tough circumstances, I was moved by his consideration and consistent sacrifice. That’s how I decided to marry him. We can’t see each other every day, but I feel secure and grateful for my husband, who creates memories with me every week.

남편과 나는 결혼한 지 1년이 조금 넘은 신혼부부이다. 남편은 같은 과 1년 후배였고, 9년간 나와 가장 친한 사이였기에 우리는 많은 시간을 함께 했다.

하지만 그 과정은 쉽지 않았다. 남편은 부천, 나는 전주에 있었기 때문에 장거리 연애를 했다. 힘든 상황이었지만 남편의 배려와 한결같은 희생에 감동받았고, 그래서 결혼을 결심하게 됐다. 서로 매일 볼 수는 없지만, 한 주도 빠짐없이 나와 추억을 만드는 남편이 있어 든든하고 그에게 감사하다.
