I am an English teacher at a language institute. I recently started an online TESOL course to gain expertise. TESOL stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. It's a type of training course that provides teaching methods to English instructors who teach English to people as a second language.
TESOL courses teach various teaching methods, each with a focus on reading, listening, speaking, or writing. The course also consists of classes that teach useful skills that can be used in the classroom. These include instructional management and creating teaching material. The course I am enrolled in is a 5-week-long online course. Its biggest draw is that I can study on the side while still working at my day job. I feel elated because it feels like I am in college again when I attend the lectures. I hope to complete the coursework soon and become certified as a TESOL instructor. I long for that sense of accomplishment.
