A software Defined Vehicles(SDV) refers to a car defined by software. In other words, it’s a vehicle in which the software controls and governs the hardware. While traditional cars were mainly about hardware, based on mechanical engineering, SDVs represent the opposite concept.

Nowadays, software-based vehicles are viewed more as electronic devices, much like smartphones. For instance, they offer Feature on Demand(FoD) services that allow customers to selectively purchase the software features they need.

Software-based vehicles can be connected to all aspects of a lifecycle, playing a crucial role in providing drivers with convenient and diverse mobility experiences. These software-centric vehicles are expected to become the norm in the future, changing people’s perceptions and means of transportation.
