I've started reading bedtime stories when it was time for bed ever since our first child was a newborn baby. Our eldest is 7 years old now, and her little brother is 4. I still read to them at bedtime to this day. Reading before we go to bed has become a family tradition. The kids think it's just the way things are. One time, I asked them "Should we just go to sleep today?" They cried their eyes out and made a scene. I started reading bedtime stories in the hopes that my kids would grow to love books. Whenever they get a chance, they take books from the bookcase and read them on their own. I'm always amazed to see that, and it fills me with pride.
- It's not time for bed yet, but I'm already sleepy.
- I didn't want to make a scene in front of so many people.
- I try to call my parents whenever I get a chance.
1: Are your kids big on reading?
2: Yes. I have read them bedtime stories ever since they're little.
1: Oh, I see.
2: That naturally led to them love of reading.
1: I think children develop habits depending on how their Mom raise them.
2: That's true. Mom's play a big role.
