The KDI School of Public and Management is affiliated with KDI (Korea Development Institute), undeniably the premier think tank for the South Korean government for the past 50 years. It was first established in December 1997.
The school fosters international experts with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fields of development economics and public policy.
It was founded with the goal of nurturing future leaders across all sectors of society to cope with the rapidly changing international environment.
I enrolled in this graduate school in the fall semester of 2022 and am currently balancing work and studies. A major feature of the KDI school is that it has the highest proportion of international students among graduate schools in Korea. All the courses are conducted in English.
The classes emphasize active participation, blending presentations with group assignments. So, students naturally communicate with international classmates and can form friendships with them.

KDI 국제정책대학원은 지난 50년간 대한민국 정부의 명실상부한 최고 싱크탱크였던 KDI(한국개 발연구원)를 모태로, 1997년 12월에 처음 설립되었다.
이 학교는 개발경제 및 공공정책 분야의 이론적 지식과 실무 능력을 겸비한 국제 전문가를 양성한다. 급변하는 국제 환경에 대응할 수 있는 사회 전 분야의 미래 리더 양성을 목표로 설립되었다.
나는 2022년 가을 학기에 이 대학원에 입학해 현재 일과 학업을 병행하고 있다. KDI 대학원의 가장 큰 특징은 국내 대학원 중 외국인 학생 비율이 가장 높다는 점이다. 모든 수업이 영어로 진행된다.
수업은 프레젠테이션과 그룹 과제를 혼합하여 적극적인 참여를 강조한다. 따라서 학생들은 외국인 친구들과 자연스럽게 소통하며 우정을 쌓을 수 있다.
