I recently watched a movie in a 4D theater for the first time. Although 4D theaters have been around for quite some time, I hadn't ever been to one.
They seemed too expensive, and I thought that they would feel like being on an amusement park ride. But that day, I decided to give it a try.
I liked that the seats were larger and set further apart than in regular theaters. It was a novel experience, and I had a better time than I was expecting.
The seats moved in all directions depending on what was going on in the movie. Wind blew in my face, as well as water droplets. There were also lighting effects and various smells.
I felt a little dizzy at first, as if I had motion sickness. But I soon got used to it. I was able to immerse myself in the movie because it felt like I was moving along with the characters. Next time, I plan to bring the kids along to experience it together.

얼마 전 나는 처음으로 4D 상영관에서 영화를 봤다. 4D 상영관이 생긴 지는 꽤 되었지만 그동안 가보지 않았다. 가격도 비싸 보였고 놀이 기구를 타는 기분일 것 같았기 때문이다. 그런데 그날은 한번 도전해 보기로 마음먹었다.
일반 상영관보다 의자도 크고 간격도 넓어서 좋았고, 생각보다 재미있고 새로운 경험이었다. 영화 내용에 따라 의자가 사방으로 움직이고, 얼굴에 바람도 불어오고 물이 튀기도 했다. 조명 효과도 있고 다양한 향이 나기도 했다.
초반에는 멀미가 나는 것처럼 머리가 조금 어지러운 느낌이 있었지만, 점차 익숙해졌다. 그리고 주인공들과 함께 움직이고 있다는 느낌이 들어서 영화에 몰입할 수 있었다. 다음에는 아이들도 데리고 가서 함께 경험해 보려 한다.

A: Yes, it felt like we were on an amusement park ride throughout the entire movie.
B: That sounds fun. I should take the kids sometimes, too.
